The 1st World Buddhist Culture Exposition

  • 10/06/2023 - 9:00am
  • Central Library, Lumbini Buddhist University

Since the Lord Buddha was born in 623 B.C. in Lumbini, his teaching has been spread all over the globe across time and space. What makes his teaching so important, especially for today’s world which is full of unwanted conflicts and decline? What is the core part of his teaching that still can strive and can be revived nowadays? Who is Lord Buddha Shakyamuni? To answer these questions and to honor Nepal as the origination and founding country of Buddhism as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, we now make a 1-day program in Lumbini as the 1st World Buddhist Culture Expo together with disciples, followers, and friends inside of Lumbini Sacred Garden and all over the world that admires Lord Buddha’s teaching and his qualities, especially from those countries and regions where traditionally Buddhism is found prestigious such as Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Burma, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and developed nations where Buddhism got prominent in recent years such as Germany. All participants intend to benefit hopefully in the way that to discover a new way of connecting with each other under the wisdom of Buddhism, joining together to fight against the cultural, economic, and social problems primarily created by our own ignorance and its relevant karma from now and the past. Creating a new way of living, thinking, and interacting among people who are similar and different from us so that such a way of living leads to a more sustainable future. As a pre-meeting for our World Buddhist Cultural Park project, hope our efforts will be extended even after the meeting not only that we will have 2nd and 3rd session of WBCE, or more, but also forge a Buddhist Park as our common wish: Let us pray together for cleaning our energy and a more beautiful, happy, open, diversified while harmonious new world.
