One Day Seminar on MA in Buddhism and Himalayan Studies Syllabus

Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University has organized One Day Seminar on Syllabus for MA in Buddhism and Himalayan Studies on 27th October 2018 at Lumbini College of Buddhism and Himalayan Studies premises, Bouddha Tusal.

The Seminar was inaugurated by  Prof. Dr. Naresh Man Bajracharya, Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University by lighting butter lamp in front of the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. Speaking from Chief Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Bajracharya emphasized in progress made in improving the courses of studies based on job oriented so that the LBU products could compete in the world job market.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya, the Dean,Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University.

The academic session was chaired by the Dean, Dr. Shakya while the session was moderated by former Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University, Prof. Dr. Triratna Manandhar.  At the seminar, Prof. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Dhungel presented a paper on Traditional Heritage Conservation: Theory and Practice and Prof. Dr. Sudarshan Raj Tiwari presented paper on  Traditional Architectural Survey.  These papers were duly commented by Mr. Bhim Prasad Nepal, Former Chief of National Archive and Mr. Deepak Panta, Senior Architect, REED, Tribhuvan University respectively.

From the floor several academic personalities have expressed their comments and/or suggestions on the paper.  Finally, the Prof. Manandhar concluded the academic session by appreciating both the presenters for their excellent presentations.  Speaking from chair, Dr. Shakya extended sincere thanks to the paper presenters, commentator, the moderator and all the guests.
